  1. Match report

Saturday's game was advanced so our boys made their appearance tonight in Sittard. Opponent is the D2 of Fortuna Sittard. Here too there are some decent lads, as was the case last Saturday. PSV started very well and tried to find the free man with combination play from behind, in order to get to the opponent's goal. This succeeds quite well, until 30 meters before the goal where Fortuna exploits their physical majority. Fortuna is looking for depth quicker, so we have to watch out for our rearguard as there are a couple of fast men. After fifteen minutes PSV threatened for the first time with a cross from Niels, but nobody managed to get in front of it. Moments later Fortuna scores the goal after losing the ball and a Fortunean can tap in the 1-0. A small dip, but PSV tries to do something back immediately. A good combination between Niels and Greg ends with a good save from the Fortuna goalkeeper. PSV keeps putting pressure and a minute later the ball reaches Yassin who forgets to tap it in. After 20 minutes Fortuna makes it 2-0 as a header after a free kick goes in. Within 5 minutes the third and fourth goals also go in for Fortuna, making it 4-0 in a short time. A major setback just before halftime. However, Greg makes the sight somewhat bearable by scoring the first goal of the season, leaving PSV with a 4-1 deficit at halftime. Fortuna changes their forwards at halftime, but they too are able to score as it soon becomes 5-1. PSV has a lot of ball possession in the second half, but just like in the first half we don't really get dangerous. When we lose the ball, we have to watch our turnovers. After 20 minutes in the 2nd half, the fast right-winger is sent into the depth and taps in the 6-1. PSV goes in search of a better result. 5 minutes before time it is Joop who finds Davy after a good action. He sends Greg into the depth to score his 2nd goal. Just before time Fortuna made it 7-2. Next week another opponent from Brabant. Maybe they are better suited for us.
