Today was the day. Today we could reward our good season by becoming champions of the play-offs. We had to draw or win at VVV.
We started the game sloppy and did not reach our usual level. After a while we played better and created some chances. Unfortunately we were not able to find the goal yet. Mohammed Ihattaren and Jur were close though.
In the second half we kicked off. We dominated and played continuously in VVV's half. A goal was not long in coming. And fortunately it came. After a nice solo by Mathijs, Mohammed Ihattaren shot hard inside. 0-1. Despite our superiority we could not increase our lead. VVV threatened once more with a hard shot from the underside of the crossbar.
In the third half we went looking for the 0-2. We had to decide this game as soon as possible. This did not seem to work for a long time. We had some bad luck in our finishing. Five minutes before time, Jeremy put an end to all uncertainty. As right back he started a long rush and shot the ball in impeccably. 0-2. This could not go wrong anymore! And it didn't! We won 0-2 and became champions!
We have shown this season that we have grown a lot. In the beginning we had to get used to the big field and the physical opposition, but we showed that we were the best this year. A big compliment to all the players and the technical staff!
