  1. Match report

After several practice matches and tournaments, today finally the real work started for the boys of PSV E2 and F1.
Because the management of our youth academy thought that we had too little resistance in the KNVB competition, we decided to organize our own competition in cooperation with some other clubs.
In this competition some adjustments to the rules have been made in order to train the players even faster to a higher level, for example, the entire half will no longer be used as a playing field, but the field will be made slightly smaller. The goalkeeper will have an area of 12 meters in which he can still pick up the ball with his hand, but he is no longer allowed to pick up return balls. Also, instead of 2 times 25 minutes they will now play 3 times 20 minutes.
Our F1 is also classified in this competition, of course to get the maximum resistance.
The first match today was the derby between PSV E2 and PSV F1.
In the dressing room a discussion started between the teams, because the E2 was going to beat the F1, and the F1 wanted to prove otherwise. But if the players of the E2 had watched the Dutch team last night, they should have known that you should never underestimate an opponent.
Already in the first minute it was a success for the E2, Matteo scored directly from the kick-off to make it 1-0, now everyone thought that this could turn out to be a big result, but nothing was further from the truth, the players of the F team recovered very well and just started to play along with the E players, this created a nice match. The E players thought they could make the difference with individual actions and the F players played very well as a team. And yes what nobody expected ( except trainer Martin ) happened, the F scored the 1-1. Soon after Seb made it 2-1 for the E2. But otherwise the chances in the first half were for both teams.
Trainer Patrick was not satisfied with the game in the first half, they did not play together, did not keep appointments etc. etc. I think the F1 was in a much better mood at half time.
In the 2nd half the E2 started to play more as a team, they handled the space better and also stayed in their positions better, or took over someone else's position well. Coach Patrick's thunderous speech had apparently gone down well. The F also continued to play well and did not shy away from the physical. The E2 scored 4 times, the F1 also deserved a goal but unfortunately could not score in the second half. Thus there was a second half score of 6-1 in favor of the E2.
In the third half it was the E2 who had the better of the game, but luckily the F1 still managed to score. The result was 12 - 2 on the scoreboard.
I think the E2 has now learned that they should not underestimate an opponent.
Of course we must not forget to make compliments to our F1, they have shown today that they are capable of a lot with very good football.
And of course congratulations to Jaivy who scored 5 goals on his birthday.
