The B2 played a game with two faces on Saturday in Waalwijk. A somewhat flat first half was followed by a (for the neutral spectator) highly entertaining 2nd half in which the game went back and forth and which saw a bizarre score sequence. In the end, the hosts took the win on the basis of effort and match mentality by scoring twice more in the last minute of regular playing time and injury time.

In the first half, it took until the '25th minute before PSV became really dangerous for the first time, when Sam Lammers completed a dribble with a shot on goal. Two minutes later, striker Vincent Heilmann came through on the left side and put the ball ready for the free Martijn Berden. After his first effort was turned away by the goalkeeper, he rounded the ball off well when the keeper let go, 0-1. Vincent Heilmann had a good opportunity to make it 0-2 just before half time when Sam Lammers sent him off on his own towards the penalty area and he seemed to have a clear runway, but he hesitated too long and found a defender in his way to prevent the goal.

The 2nd half was barely a few minutes old when the game took a dramatic turn for PSV. Within a span of 5 minutes, Willem II/RKC managed to turn the 0-1 into a 3-1 lead. Whereas the 1-1 in the '37th minute came from a good individual move by the left striker that allowed the free striker to shoot in the equalizer from close range, at the 2-1 Willem II/RKC countered with an attack over only 3 drives to the PSV goal and the ball was shot in at the 2nd post under the feet of central defender Maarten Peijnenburg. Only minutes later, the hosts increased the margin to 3-1 from a penalty after Gökhan Kardes made hands inside the penalty area.

Despite this psychological blow so soon after halftime, Twan Scheepers' team kept themselves in the game with the thought that there was still enough time left to turn the score around and that chances would certainly still be created in the open match. In the 60th minute, Sam Lammers cleverly took advantage of the hosts' lack of organization by quickly taking a free kick and putting substitute Youandi Renfurm alone in front of the goalkeeper. He did not let the chance slip away and rounded off in a controlled manner in the short corner: 3-2. The equalizer was also on the board within ten minutes. Vincent Heilmann was brought down from behind as he entered the penalty area and headed alone towards the goalkeeper, for which the Waalwijk defender was shown a red card. Sam Lammers kicked the penalty hard at the crossbar, but Youandi Renfurm, who had walked in, coolly controlled the rebound on his chest and shot the ball into the net, 3-3.

With 10 minutes to go and the score on the clock both teams seemed to settle for a draw, although striker Vincent Heilmann seemed to have the winning goal 2 minutes before time. After a good move by Martijn Berden, he got free in front of the goalie, but his effort from close range was beautifully parried by the keeper. Yet in the last minute the dreaded happened, and the hosts scored the 4-3 from a harmless situation. The 13-year-old turner Mike van den Meulenhof, who started in the starting line-up due to injury and played an excellent game, misjudged a cross from the side so that he could not control the ball and it ended up in the goal. Nevertheless, PSV still had the opportunity to score the equalizer in injury time when Vincent Heilmann went off alone towards the Waalwijk goal. At full speed his shot lacked precision and went over the goal. Deep into injury time, however, Willem II/RKC put an end to Eindhoven's hopes with a fine attack, 5-3.
