Last Saturday, PSV E2 played its first playoff game, at home against Roda JC 2. Just before the game the coach had told the boys that they had to do everything independently. Of course that was a bit of a swallow, but during the match everything went very well. In the initial phase, in which PSV tried to make the game, the team created nice chances. The first good opportunity for PSV hit the post. After that, there were a few more good chances, but the ball just didn't seem to go in. If one team cannot get the ball, the other team will. Roda got out to a 0-1 lead, but PSV didn't back down and got back to 1-1 pretty quickly. Deveron came up well again and was able to cross the ball, so all Joris had to do was run against it: 1-1. Then it was again Deveron who set up the attack and also again Joris who finished the attack cleverly: 2-1. Then it was Mylian's turn. He rounded two Roda defenders and then took a devastating shot and that ball went in: 3-1. Martijn thought: what Mylian can do, I can do as well. Martijn also took a long shot and the ball flew in: 4-1. Mylian was involved in the next goal. After a good pass on a Roda defender, he crossed the ball and of course there is always Joris to tap in: 5-1. Mylian was also involved in the 6-1, because from a beautiful corner, Mats could shoot the ball in. Then again Mylian was the finishing touch, as again he popped in nicely from long range and it became 7-1. Then Roda came back once more to 7-2 and right after that Mats, on behalf of PSV scored the 8-2 again. The last goal was scored by Tim, who after a mistake by the Roda goalkeeper, shot hard and controlled: 9-2.
