PSV started the match with concentration. The ball was passed around quickly and Nuenen lagged behind. In the 8th minute, PSV had the first opportunity to score. A well taken corner was headed just over. PSV became more and more dominant. In the 17th minute, after a miss in the Nuenen defense, the ball hit the post. PSV maintained their advantage and a goal was inevitable. This happened in the 29th minute. A good ball from Dani was tapped by Yorbe through the legs of the Nuenen goalkeeper, 0-1. This was also the score at halftime.

PSV continued on the same footing in the second half. In the 37th minute, Thijs was brought down inside the 16. The rightly awarded penalty kick was tipped in by Yorbe, 0-2. A few minutes later the score was further extended. A free kick by Dani was headed in by Shurandy, in a mishmash of players, 0-3. PSV was now completely in control of the game. Nuenen did not press further and tried to limit the damage. In the 49th minute PSV scored again from a free kick. Nuenen could not clear Jochem's free kick well. Finally the ball came to Dani who shot hard from close range, 0-4. PSV kept up the pressure on Nuenen but no more goals were scored. The final score was 0-4.
