And then you have a rainy day in the middle of the week and what do you do? You drive to Groningen for an Eredivisie match. And how beautiful the Netherlands is from a warm bus with the rain pouring down on the front. The stopover was perfect and the care was top notch.
Then the match on a beautiful but they.... (sorry) soaking wet artificial turf where they could have adjusted the lighting. And with that kind of weather, so also the same match. Back and forth but no good chances for either team. After about half an hour Moussa managed to set up a good attack and from the right he sent a cross to Ryan who managed to reach Niels with a great stroke who, standing in the sixteen, shot the ball into the goal like a cannonball and into the net. Unfortunately, this is also the only time the net bulges because a ball is shot in, the other bulges are due to the wind and rain. (I should add that most of the rain went through the net).
And after a shower of about an hour and a half, the referee blew the whistle and we knew that the three points went on the bus after all, and that drives home a lot more comfortably than a defeat. At least we are leading for a weekend. After a free weekend the next opponent is Fc Twente. So good luck.
See you next time. See you.
