A week after the convincing 0-10 victory over FC Dordrecht, the match against VVV/HS was scheduled.
It was a nice match that went up and down nicely, where PSV came out victorious.
VVV/HS tried to keep PSV under pressure, but PSV got out of it well football wise.VVV/HS did get the opportunity to make some quick breakouts. For both teams this resulted in several chances, of which Sekou cashed in on one by opening the score with a thunderous distance shot. 1-0.
After the opening score, VVV/HS went in search of the equalizer. This resulted in some good chances, but first Benji saved on the goal line, and then Pepijn made a nice save, giving PSV the lead at halftime.
In the 6th minute of the second half, VVV/HS equalized by punishing a mistake in the PSV defense. 1-1. This did not upset PSV, however, and it did not remain tied for long. In the 10th minute another PSV long-distance shot which, slightly touched, fell with a nice arc over the goalkeeper into the goal. Shooter: Mathijs Bell. 2-1
It remained an entertaining match with chances on both sides, but in the 21st minute PSV managed to decide the match definitively. After a nicely cut cross from Jochem, Gregory headed the ball fantastically in. 3-1.
This was also the final score. A deserved victory for a hardworking team.
