  1. Match report

And the train thunders on. FC Utrecht was finally defeated 1 - 0 today in an exciting match. After our new stadium speaker (Art L.) greets us on the field we are ready for the new battle.
After a good start we are fierce and after three minutes Ryan can shoot us to a lead but he does not manage to place Niels' brilliant pass past the goalkeeper and put the lead on t board. Utrecht is brighter and has more ball possession and thus a (there he is again) optical advantage. There were no real clear-cut chances and only Hiwat had two more but they did not go in. So we go into the break with a score of 0 - 0.
After the break we have to continue like this but the hoped-for goals remain expensive today. With just over fifteen minutes to play it is finally our quick (roadrunner) Junior who taps in a cross from Ryan from the left to make it 1 - 0.
It remained exciting for the rest of the match but nothing changed and the points were won. I have to say that the luckier team won this typical zero-sum game.
Now first Tuesday a practice game against Una and then on to a deserved quiet weekend at least for those who have no international games. And who doesn't want that as a young football player.
And he was there again at the bar with Guus: Never hit a man with glasses, with the fist comes harder.
    See you next week.
