Today we have to make the trip to Helmond for the match in our series against Helmond Sport. Giovanni called in sick, but luckily Lander was able to arrange a goalkeeper for us today. Just like us, HS has no points to lose, so it is either keep up today or drop out. We know that Hs has a good team, and of course the great kick of Denzel who played with us last season. We start well with chances for Matteo in the 2nd and 4th minute. But after this we also totally lost our way, before 10 minutes on the clock we are facing a 3-0 deficit. Too quick ball loss, too weak defending, personal mistakes everything goes wrong. The only positive thing in the first half was a good cross from Jaivy from which Seb scored. For the rest, quickly forget this 1st half.

In the first minute of the second half HS continued where they had left off, so immediately HS scored again: 4-1. But from now on thankfully we show again what we can do.
Seb was alert in the 24th minute and scored from the rebound 4-2, in the 25th minute the Hs goalkeeper made a good save on a shot by Seb, in the 33rd minute Jaivy went off on a solo run in front of goal, took a good look and tapped the ball in nicely 4-3, in the 37th minute we even managed to score the tying goal 4-4. And if we had taken advantage of all the chances in the second half we could have even taken a lead, but it was not to be. Too bad HS still managed to score in the last minute of the second half and still take a lead 5-4 at halftime.

In the 3rd half it has to happen, again we get some chances but again they do not go there. But HS also gets some chances and even manages to score with a distance shot from 30 meters which with a bit of luck falls over Lander 6-4. Jesper is now more involved in the attack which results in 2 goals in the 59 and 60 minute so 6-6.
There was even an opportunity to win but we were not given it, and I think not rightly so. Still the boys showed today that they can go very deep to make up for a deficit, there was no lack of work ethic today, only the good football we showed last week against Fortuna was not there today. The boys did play well and with pleasure, so we are positive and looking forward to the next match.
