Last Saturday, PSV B1 played the home match against FC Groningen B1.
Pretty soon it became clear that the opponent had come to Eindhoven to 'hold back'.
Nevertheless, PSV B1 was able to create some chances in the 1st half with good field play. PSV deservedly took a 1-0 lead. After a long pass from Dante Rigo, Matthias Verreth got to the ball before the FC Groningen goalkeeper.
In the 21st min Steven Bergwijn doubled the score. After a deflected corner the ball came to Steven and he shot the ball fantastically into the far corner.
Half-time score 2-0.
In the 2nd half FC Groningen came out of their shell a bit more. This led to the tying goal 5 minutes after half time.
PSV B1 created several good opportunities. In the end it was Philippe Rommens who decided the match. He shot a free kick straight in.
Final score 3-1.
Next Tuesday PSV B1 plays the semi-final of the cup in and against Utrecht.
Next Saturday, PSV B1 plays the next league match. That is an away game in Rotterdam against Excelsior.
