  1. Match report

Due to an odd number of teams in the league, the E1 did not have to come into action last week. They did have a successful practice against S.V. Advendo (5-2 win, ed.). Today another league game was scheduled. The opponent was UNA, a club with a good name in the region. For trainer Bastiaan it was exciting whether all players would be present. In the run-up to this match, several players had some flu-like symptoms. Both Arne and Yassin had missed training due to illness. Fortunately, everyone was there and at the stroke of 11:30 a.m. the game kicked off. Unlike last week, when the game was played in glorious sunshine, there was an icy wind blowing across the field. Despite these conditions, both teams went full steam ahead from the start. The first chance was in the 5th minute for UNA. However, it was Kyan who plucked the ball from the feet of the UNA attacker with a cat-like dive. In the same minute Arne was allowed to take a corner on the left side of the field. He saw Tijn standing free, who did not hesitate for a moment and scored in the short corner (1-0). With fast combinations PSV tried to play off the physically strong UNA. But also the duels were not shunned. For example, in the 11th minute Gregory conquered the ball on the right side of the pitch, with a through ball he found Arne. With a nice foot movement he set Davy free in front of the goalkeeper, who slid the ball in a controlled way past the keeper (2-0). Davy clearly had a taste for it. A few minutes later he sent the UNA defense into harm's way with some nice hooded moves, but his shot could only be denied by the goalkeeper. However, in the 17th minute the goalkeeper had no answer to Davy's effort either, after he set himself free with a beautiful individual move (3-0). Barely a minute later the game was decided. Arne set up a quick one-two with Yassin and coolly rounded it off (4-0). The home club continued to attack unabated. Again it was Yassin who went well through on the right, his cross was shot just wide by Niels. The corners also continued to cause danger. Another corner by Arne was shot just wide by Davy. Just before half time Sem started a strong solo. With a slide he recaptured the ball and from about fifteen meters he took a devastating shot. The keeper barely managed to punch the ball out of the crossbar. After halftime UNA continued to hunt for a goal. This was rewarded in the 28th minute. After the ball hit the crossbar, the UNA attacker managed to put the rebound behind Kyan. After 128 minutes of keeping his goal clean, he was passed for the first time this competition. The home team was not deterred and a fraction later it was Arne again who was at the base of an attack. This time he reached Gregory and via the inside of the post he put the 5-1 on the scoreboard. Arne almost scored his second goal as well, but after a nice action by Davy, his distance shot hit the crossbar. The final chord today was for Yassin. A distance shot by Arne was not handled well by the goalkeeper and Yassin was the first to score the 6-1 final score. Thus the E1 remained unbeaten in their third league game of the season.
