PSV C2 remains in the winning mood. The fourth match in the spring competition, against Vitesse/AGOVV, was also won convincingly. The result was 1-3, but both in the first and the second half there were plenty of chances and the result could, if not should, have been higher.
The pleasant observation is that the C2 is running smoothly from the beginning of the competition and that the team is getting better and better adjusted to each other. PSV dictates the game in every match, yesterday was no different. Perhaps only the first five minutes of the first half and after the 0-3 in the second half, Vitesse had the upper hand for some time. That was also when the 1-3 fell.
Before half-time Mats Grotenbreg and Lennerd Daneels scored, after half-time Matthias Verreth struck again. A brilliant save by goalkeeper Ieke Scheerhoorn should not go unmentioned; he saved the ball from the goal when it was 1-3. PSV got wings again and a series of good chances that did not change the score.
PSV leads the league with a nice twelve points from four matches. Next week Volendam awaits at home. An opponent that so far only collected one point, but did hold Willem II to 1-1. So watch out, but the play of recent weeks is more than enough reason to smile.
