    PSV back in title race

PSV did what it came to Sittard on Saturday, taking three points and moving up the rankings to regain one of the coveted top spots. Although PSV did not manage a monster score as in the previous home game, when Fortuna were beaten 7-0, the team achieved a fine result without too much trouble: 0-3.

In the first half, PSV still looked a bit tame and did not create very big chances apart from a few opportunities. The status of the most productive team in the league was not lived up to, while Fortuna, as the least productive team, managed to trouble goalkeeper Niek only once with a distance shot that he handled well. Nevertheless, PSV took the lead within fifteen minutes after an attack started with a long ball. Yaël sent the already departed Lars towards the Limburg goal, who remained calm only in front of the goal and picked out a corner at his leisure, 0-1.

In the second half, PSV coolly put things in order. While captain Jesper missed a free header opportunity in the 43rd minute, he scored two minutes later. Coen played the ball precisely to the head of Mido, who headed in at the first post, 0-2. In the 58th minute Ruben made it 0-3 after a preparatory action by Julian, who placed the ball in the penalty area for the free Ruben. He did not hesitate and shot the ball hard into the far corner. A very useful and welcome victory for O16, which moved back up to the safe third place on the league table. Although the gap with the leaders is only three points, both the teams directly above and below PSV have played one less game. So it remains exciting in the O16 competition.

PSV plays next Wednesday at home at 5 p.m. in a friendly against VVV. The next league match is on Nov. 23 at 12:45 p.m. against Dordrecht.
