After a week of various extremes, Easter, Tournament Düsseldorf, Interland obligations with placement for the European Championship (TOP), and days off, today NEC is visiting.
After the last game against NEC in Nijmegen, we still have something to put right. And we want to stay in the top with a view to placement in the Domestic League (if the first team fails to become champions).
The start of the match is hesitant and messy. The final passes are not always clean and you notice that there is pressure on this match. Especially in the first 45 minutes there are really few big goal chances. After halftime we have to pick it up. And we do. Within ten minutes it is Lennard who gets the ball on the left and starts a solo, pulls inside and from the edge of the box leaves the keeper completely defenseless with his shot into the far corner. We want more, we are eager. After a preferential situation given by the referee, it is then Sam who shoots in the rightly awarded penalty impeccably. The margin is bigger. Within five minutes Martijn managed to reach the Laros, who had run out of steam, and he scored the 3-0 in a controlled manner. However, we still did not have enough and after a well set up attack on the right, Dirk played a great cross and Joey put the final score of 4-0 on the board. A deserved and very much deserved (based on the second half for sure) victory and the race continues.
