After the Easter tournament last weekend in Rotterdam, PSV o15 stayed in Rotterdam atmospheres. After all, the match against frontrunner Feyenoord was scheduled at De Herdgang. An opponent it also faced at last week's tournament (1-0 loss). But also in the league (3-1 loss) and in the cup (3-0 win) both teams already faced each other.

So the teams know each other very well. There was not much at stake for PSV. They are 4 points ahead of Ajax. It was up to Feyenoord to come out of the match unscathed and take all three points.

Could PSV put a stop to this?

The early stages were clearly for the Eindhoven side. Especially on the right flank, Beslan Sagov was often threatening. Unfortunately, the final pass was often not in order so PSV could not yet create any real chances in front of goal. PSV did go close to an opening goal in the 10th minute: a corner by Mo Ihattaren was headed wide by Mees Kreekels in a promising position.

After 17 minutes Feyenoord surprisingly opened the scoring. A free kick was not caught by Jurre Schaafsma, after which a Rotterdam player reacted quickest to make it 0-1. A setback for the until then well playing home team.

After this goal, PSV seemed to have lost faith and confidence. The game became more messy and PSV were too quick to hit the long ball. Feyenoord had a few small chances, including a long-distance shot and a half-volley. Just before half time they countered quickly and it seemed to become 0-2. But Jurre saved skillfully in the 1 on 1 situation.

After the break the level of play dropped. PSV almost scored from a free kick by Mo Ihattarren who saw his free kick hit the roof of the Feyenoord goal.

Both teams came sporadically in front of the goal. So it was not surprising that once again a goal was the result of a mistake. Unfortunately it fell on the wrong side. After a bad ball back Jurre collided with a Feyenoord player and the referee rightly pointed to the penalty spot. Yellow for Jurre and the penalty was used without fail: 0-2.

PSV tried to turn the game around with some substitutions. But unfortunately the substitutions did not bring the desired success. In fact, Jurre had to make two good saves to prevent a bigger defeat. PSV could only counter with a cross from Yorbe Vertessen to Jeremy Antonisse. As Jeremy just could not reach the ball, the counter remained at 0 goals this time on the Eindhoven side.

Feyenoord thus took the 3 points back to Rotterdam. And took an unbridgeable lead in mutual games this season: 1-3. The only time we can still meet Feyenoord this season is at the Marveld tournament. "Fortunately" they will be in the other pool.
