After a long journey through the flat Dutch landscape, we faced JVOZ C1 at 12:45 pm. For us, the match of the D1 of PSV had ended in a deception: 3-2 loss against the D1 of JVOZ. So we were warned!!!
JVOZ started the game sharper and dared to put high pressure. This made it difficult for PSV to play football. Still, PSV was closest to the opening goal in the first half, after long-distance shots by Jaëll Hattu and Joey Konings. But JVOZ was not harmless either, but fortunately goalkeeper Aaron van Engelen was in the right place every time. In the last minute, former JVOZ player Karim Bannani had an excellent chance to make it 0-1. Because both players knew each other well, Karim started to hesitate. And an old football law says that hesitation before the goal is never good. And once again, the JVOZ goalie emerged victorious from this duel.
In the 2nd half, PSV was the superior side and had good chances to wipe the "zero" off the scoreboard. However, Matthias Verreth could not find the net in 2 instances. And Joey passed the goalkeeper, but his shot went narrowly past the wrong side of the post. JVOZ could hardly pose a threat in the 2nd half. Despite the superiority, PSV could not convert this into goals. The result was 0-0. PSV short-changed themselves. Next week against Feyenoord we can take revenge.
