  1. Match report

PSV D1 clearly showed in the home match against RKC D1 that top form is on its way in the important final phase of the competition. PSV started fiercely against coach Rick's team (still with PSV last season) and it hit the mark after only two minutes, when the strong-playing Rai Vloet took unerring advantage of a misunderstanding in the RKC defense to make it 1-0. RKC was woken up by this early goal and after clumsy ball loss midway through PSV's half, RKC looked to score the equalizer. Aeolus (god of wind) was kind to PSV D1 and blew the ball wide of the PSV goal. After twenty minutes of play, Michael Maria was played in on the left side, he dribbled in with the ball and with some phenomenal feints he shook off two RKC defenders and then popped the ball from the sixteen-meter line with his right wing into the far top corner. What a great goal! RKC became dangerous once more in the first half, but Zeus de la Paz did an excellent job of preventing a goal. Jordy de Wijs and Jorrit Hendrix tried a few times from distance, narrowly missing the RKC goal. Just before halftime, a PSV attack seemed to die in beauty, but via the tangle the ball ended up with Rai Vloet, who made no mistake only in front of the RKC goalkeeper and shot the safe 3-0.
In the second half, PSV D1 remained on top. There were many good attacks, but the finishing proved to be a difficult task, partly due to good goalkeeping by the RKC goalkeeper. Ten minutes before the end of the match the birthday boy Aron Schnorrenberg managed to conquer the ball halfway RKC's half, he passed the ball to the sprinting Endy Opoku Bernadina who this time left the RKC goalkeeper without a chance by ruthlessly seizing the opportunity (4-0).
This also turned out to be the final score of this match, in which PSV D1 showed that they still fully believed in the championship. As Willem II D1 in the away match against TOP Oss D1 did not come further than a goalless draw, PSV D1 has the chance of the title back in their own hands!
