PSV started the match strongly by putting Fortuna under pressure. However, Fortuna managed to score from the first attack. After 5 minutes the ball was shot from 16 meters into the goal 1-0. After about 15 minutes there was a big chance for PSV but unfortunately it went just wide.

After about half an hour PSV couldn't get the ball away in the back and this allowed Fortuna to score 2-0. After that PSV got on the right track. Jaivy captured the ball in front and was able to capitalize on this opportunity himself. With a placed ball he scored the 2-1. Shortly afterwards the score was equal. From a free kick by Floris the ball hit the post. In the rebound Thijn was in the right place to tap in the 2-2. After about 40 minutes PSV even took the lead. A free kick by Floris was not touched by anyone and just went in 2-3. A minute later Thijn was able to break through. Several fouls were made on him, but the referee gave good advantage. After Thijn's shot was blocked Ruben suddenly managed to shoot the ball out of the air into the free goal 2-4. In the same minute another good solo by Jaivy and again the referee gave good advantage. Jaivy just managed to pass the ball to Sven who shot from close range 2-5.

In the third, PSV would give away this lead. On the one hand due to the strong wind and on the other hand with some stupid actions. After 43 minutes a shot was fired at the PSV goal. Through a foot of our defense it became 3-5. Not much later a ball was put just over our defense. Nobody intervened on the striker who was free to choose a corner 4-5. Shortly thereafter it became equal from a distance shot. The ball unfortunately slipped through Giovanni's gloves 5-5. PSV got back into the game but could not prevent Fortuna from taking the lead again. Five minutes before time a shot was blocked by our defense. The ball then rolled to a free striker who was able to shoot from close range 6-5. Shortly before the final whistle Fortuna made it 7-5 after a silly misunderstanding between our goalkeeper and a defender.

PSV showed fine football today under tough conditions. The wind today was decisive for the insane scoring and the result. Of the 12 goals, 11 were scored with the wind at our backs. Fortuna played 2 periods today with the wind at their backs and managed to score once with the wind against them. That made the difference today.
