PSV U21 and MVV shared the points in a 0-0 draw at De Herdgang training facilities on Monday evening. It was an action packed game but neither team managed to break the deadlock. Following the goalless draw, PSV U21 moved up to fifth place in the Jupiler League table.
Few chances in a fast-paced game
The crowd saw an entertaining first half in the last Jupiler League game in 2016. It was a fast-paced game with both teams pressing from the first whistle. The first chance fell to the visitors but striker Verheydt just could not connect with a low cross. Pascal Jansen’s team gradually took control, saw a lot of the ball but struggled to make any inroads. Poulsen’s cross sailed over the bar while Rosario drilled a shot across the face of goal on 35 minutes. Bergwijn fired into the side netting. HT: 0-0.
The second half continued in much of the same vein as the first. PSV U21 dominated proceedings but failed to create any clear-cut chances. Paal and Beto da Silva came on but the two substitutes could not make the difference, either. Hendrix tried his luck from long range but his shot went over the bar. At the other end, PSV U21 goalkeeper Remko Pasveer made a fine save to deny Nwakali. Bergwijn came close to scoring the winner in the closing stages, rattling the bar as PSV U21 struggled to break down the MVV defence. FT: 0-0.
