Jürgen Locadia has pulled out of the Netherlands squad for the friendlies with Scotland and Romania. “I feel disappointed to be forced out of the Netherland squad, as I think there was a chance I would be handed my debut. I feel fine and some players have not been called up to the squad due to injuries but unfortunately I have sustained an injury myself.”
The PSV forward sustained an ankle injury last week but was fit to face FC Twente. He picked up another knock and consulted with the team doctor of the national team who advised him to withdraw from the squad. Locadia has started rehab and hoped to be fort eh clash with PEC Zwolle on Sunday, 19 November. Netherlands coach Dick Advocaat has called up Luuk de Jong as a replacement for the injured Jürgen Locadia.
Steven Bergwijn has pulled out of the Netherlands U23 squad. The winger sustained a knee injury recently, made his comeback but a recurrence of the problem has forced him to withdraw from the squad.
