Reimond Manco
PSV looked to be heading towards yet another defeat, as they were two goals down ten minutes from time. However, Reimond Manco came off the bench to help PSV secure a point. The small Peruvian substitute had been on the pitch for barely a few seconds when he delivered the perfect cross for Koevermans to reduce the deficit and five minutes later Nijland scored the equaliser for PSV, ending a poor run of five away defeats against Olympique Marseille (3-0), N.E.C. (1-0), AZ (1-0), Ajax (4-1) and Atlético Madrid (2-1. In the month of November, PSV were only on the winning side at home against Willem II (1-0) and Heracles Almelo (4-0). PSV recorded their first draw of the season, following the 2-2 draw in Heerenveen.

Roy Beerens scored opener
PSV coach Huub Stevens was forced to make two changes to the team that suffered a 2-1 defeat in Madrid. Culina replaced Pieters who was ill and Nijland deputized for Afellay who sustained an ankle injury on Wednesday. Salcido started as left back and the Australian took the right back spot. Dzsudzsák created first danger for PSV when he shot on goal, but the home side opened the scoring after sixteen minutes. PSV lost possession and sc Heerenveen quickly switched to attack. Beerens cut into the box and in spite of the presence of Bréchet, the former PSV player kept an eye on the ball and cleverly beat keeper Isaksson with a left-footed shot; 1-0. PSV won three corners in quick succession, but failed to convert. Captain Simons got a chance from a well-worked move, but Heerenveen goalkeeper Kenny Steppe pulled off a double save to deny him. PSV were attack-minded and won seven corners in the first period but they did not find the net.

Koevermans and Nijland scored second half goals

The second half continued in much the same vein. Méndez had made way for Bakkal, but sc Heerenveen caused the PSV backline all sports of problems. After Isaksson had produced another save, the hosts doubled their lead in the 65th minute. The PSV defence was torn apart as Henrique found Beerens, who was left completely unmarked, and the former PSV forward scored his second goal of the night. Huub Stevens, who celebrated his 55th birthday, was seething on the touchline and brought on Manco as substitute nine minutes from time. The substitution immediately paid dividends. Manco, who was given his first taste of league action this season, lofted over a high cross and Koevermans got up well to head the ball over Steppe; 1-2. Five minutes later Lazovic played a ball into the path of Nijland. The youngster kept his composure and one-one-one with the goalkeeper he produced a lovely chip; 2-2. PSV will be next in league action next week Saturday, when they play host to FC Groningen.
