Dzsudzsák scored opening goal

PSV coach Dwight Lodeweges made one change to the team that thrashed Ajax last week, replacing the injured Bréchet (groin) with Maza. The hosts started brightly and had their best opportunity to score after fifteen minutes when Isaksson saved a shot but could not hold on to it. The ball fell to Dost who sent his effort wide, with the goal at his mercy. PSV opened the scoring after 22 minutes from a counter attack. Dzsudzsák delivered a cross for Toivonen, who was denied by Heracles keeper Pieckenhagen. The ball fell to the Swede who passed it back to Dzsudzsák to score his tenth goal of the season.

Koevermans doubled PSV’s lead

Heracles continued to battle bravely after the break, but PSV remained in control. Afellay was substituted following a nasty tackle by Van den Bergh, who was lucky not to be booked. Seventeen minutes from time, Koevermans wrapped up the game with the second goal of the night, two minutes after he had replaced Toivonen. Amrabat struck a vicious shot on goal and Koevermans was on hand to tap home the rebound.
