PSV extend lead at the top of the Eredivisie to nine points

Defending champions PSV dropped two points in their 1-1 draw with sc Heerenveen at the Philips Stadium on Saturday night, but still they extended their lead at the top of the Eredivisie to nine points after Ajax slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Roda JC one day later. PSV have gone nine points clear at the top of the Eredivisie over four challengers: sc Heerenveen, Ajax, Feyenoord en NAC Breda.

sc Heerenveen currently lie second, courtesy of a better goal difference (+35), while NAC Breda are fifth in the table (+4). PSV play host to Helsingborgs IF in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 first leg in Eindhoven on Wednesday. Helsingborgs will host the second leg in Sweden on 21 February.

On Saturday 16 February, PSV will travel to Tilburg to face Willem II who drew 1-1 with VVV-Venlo on Sunday afternoon. Ajax take on Sparta Rotterdam on Friday night, while sc Heerenveen make the trip to Almelo on Saturday for their Eredivisie clash with Heracles Almelo. NAC Breda and Feyenoord have their fixtures scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Ernie Brandts’ men play away against De Graafschap in Doetinchem and Feyenoord entertain Vitesse at the Rotterdam Kuip.
