Debreceni VSC fined
Debrecen will continue to compete in the UEFA Europa League.
Home matches in Budapest
Debrecen beat Litex Lovech 5-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Europa League play-off round, but brought on a player as a substitute in the final minute of the return leg whose name was not on the team sheet. Litex lodged a protest which has now been rejected by UEFA. The Hungarians will be fined 15, 000 euros for “an administrative mistake”, but they will be allowed to compete in the UEFA Europa League. Balázs Dzsudzsak´s former club have been drawn alongside Sampdoria, Metalist Kharkiv and PSV in Europa League Group I. The Hungarians will not play their home matches at their own stadium, but at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium in Budapest. Debrecen will open their UEFA Europa League campaign at home against FC Metalist Kharkiv on 16 September, when PSV play host to Sampdoria on the same day.
