Tonight’s cup tie between sc Heerenveen and PSV has been called off.
Safety of the public
There is a thick layer of snow on the roof of the south stand of the Abe Lenstra Stadium, which could endanger the safety of the travelling fans when the thaw sets in. Fire brigade men in vain attempted to clear the stands of heavy snow. The KNVB decided to cancel the match when it became clear that the safety of the public could not be guaranteed. PSV travelled to the county of Friesland, following yesterday’s training, in order to be well-prepared for tonight’s clash. Fred Rutten’s team will return to Eindhoven today.
