A deal that will see 21-year-old attacking midfielder Stef Nijland playing for Willem II on a season-long loan from PSV has been completed. Nijland made a move from FC Groningen to PSV eighteen months ago, but has found first-team appearances in Eindhoven this season limited. PSV coach Fred Rutten would like Nijland to gain first-team experience with Willem II.

Rutten: “Benefit all parties”
Nijland made one appearance for PSV in a competitive mach this season: he featured in PSV´s 0-2 cup win over Roda JC in Kerkrade and played a number of friendly matches. Last season, he made three starts and came on as a substitute eleven times. He scored a late goal to secure a 2-2 draw against sc Heerenveen at the Abe Lenstra Stadium, when PSV had been trailing 2-0 late in the game. Fred Rutten thinks Stef Nijland´s loan will benefit all parties. “Nijland did not feature much in the current campaign and made only few appearances last season. It has been decided his development is best served at Willem II.”
