UEFA Europa League rounds of 32 and 16 draw

Now that the full line-up is known following the conclusion of the group stage, the draw for the UEFA Europa League rounds of 32 and 16 will take place in Nyon from 13.00CET on Friday.

PSV will learn their Europa League fate this afternoon.

PSV will not meet Ajax, FC Twente and FC Copenhagen

Group K winner PSV is seeded on Pot 1 and will be paired with one of the teams from Pot 2. As clubs from the same association must not be drawn against each other, PSV will not meet Ajax, FC Twente and FC Copenhagen. Ajax had already booked a place in the Round of 32 but finished second in Group after a 1-3 defeat at home against Anderlecht last night. FC Twente also ensured qualification to the next phase with a 1-1 at Steaua Bucharest. PSV could be drawn against four UEFA Champions League qualifiers: Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Standard Liege and Atlético Madrid or Lille, Hamburger SV, Hertha BSC, Fullham, Panathinaikos, Villareal, Everton, Club Brugge and Athletic Bilbao.

Draw in Nyon from 13.00 CET

The draw for the UEFA Europa League rounds of 32 and 16 will take place in Nyon from 13.00CET on Friday. The draw for the round of 16 will follow once the draw for the round 32 has been completed. There will be no seeded teams. The round of 32 matches are scheduled to take place on 18 en 25 February 2010. PSV will first play away on Thursday, February 18, and play their second match at home against the second team drawn one week later.
