Superleague Formula Race three will be at Zolder in Belgium

There is good news for the fans who are eagerly awaiting the start of the brand new global Superleague Formula car racing competition. The inaugural season of Superleague Formula will see PSV visit six venues across Europe (the Italian circuit has yet to be finalised), subject to FIA approval. The Beautiful Race will get underway in August 2008 at Donington Park, while Race three will be held at Zolder in Belgium, only an hour from Eindhoven.

All teams that compete in the Superleague Formula will use identical cars and technologies, including a V12-engine. Superleague Formula will feature 20 cars competing against one another, with each one carrying the colours and livery of major football clubs from Europe and around the world.

Nine clubs, PSV, AC Milan, FC Porto, Olympiakos, Borussia Dortmund, Anderlecht, FC Basel, Galatasaray and Flamengo have all signed contracts to take part in the competition and the organisation, established in Barcelona, has revealed they are having negotiations with clubs from England, Spain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Russia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, China, South Korea and the United States of America to complete the starting grid.
