Stefan Johannesson named as referee for PSV v Sparta Prague

UEFA have confirmed that Swedish referee Stefan Johannesson will be the man in charge for the Europa League match between PSV and Sparta Prague on Thursday, December 3rd. The Swedish referee will turn 38 next Sunday. A victory against Sparta Prague means PSV will qualify for the round of 32.

NAC, N.E.C. and AZ
Johannesson has never been in charge of a PSV nor Sparta Prague game before. He officiated the UEFA Europa League fixture NAC Breda versus Villareal. He was also in charge for UEFA Cup ties contested by N.E.C. during the 2008/09) season and by AZ during the 2007/08 season. He will be assisted at the Philips Stadium on 3 December by his fellow countrymen, assistant referees Magnus Sjöblom and Joakim Flink. Martin Ingvarsson, also from Sweden, will be fourth official in Eindhoven, with two officials, Daniel Stalhammar and Michael Lerjeus, placed behind the goal lines at each end.
