Head coach Fred Rutten.
Fred Rutten thinks PSV are going to face some tough resistance from ADO Den Haag at the Philips Stadium on Saturday night, when his team get their third league game under way this week. “They will play a compact defence, as they did against FC Groningen earlier this week. Their coach and his staff know exactly how to prepare the team to perform during big games”, said Rutten.
“Play a compact defence”
“Raymond Atteveld knows exactly how to prepare his to perform during big games. He was successful in that respect when he was in charge at Roda JC. His team will always show character”, said Rutten at his weekly press briefing at De Herdgang training facilities on Friday afternoon. “They will play a compact defence, as they did against FC Groningen earlier this week. We will have to find a way to slice open their defence”, said Rutten.

Orlando Engelaar
As Stanislav Manolev serves a one-match ban Rutten is likely to call up Funso Ojo or Zakaria Labyad to his eighteen-man match squad. “There are several scenarios in the absence of Stanislav. Erik Pieters or Dirk Marcellis could start on Saturday.” Midfielder Orlando Engelaar, who made his mark as substitute in PSV´s 2-1 win over FC Utrecht , has come through the midweek game unscathed, according to Rutten. “Engelaar has been working hard at training and I am very happy we have a fully-fit squad at our disposal, the more so as we face a hectic fixture list.”
Kick-off time is 18.45. The Belgian official Johan Verbist has been appointed to referee Saturday night’s game.
