Rutten in Cluj: “We want to get a good result here”

PSV have secured top spot in the Europa League Group K, but head coach Fred Rutten insisted that his side is keen to get a good result against Cluj in Romania on Wednesday. “The players and coaching staff alike are keen to get a good result here”, said Rutten ahead of the Tuesday night training session at the Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium.

Rutten announced in wintry Cluj that he is not willing to take any risks and may rest some players, among whom Balázs Dzsudzsák, who has picked up an ankle injury. Orlando Engelaar did not make the trip to Romania because he will undergo Achilles tendon surgery on Wednesday morning, while Stanislav Manolev must serve a one-match ban. Fred Rutten has named a 21-man match squad, including youngster Zakaria Labyad. “The players and coaching staff alike are keen to get a good result here. We put in a fine display at home against Cluj on Matchday 2 and should have scored three or four goals. Their attack will be strengthened tomorrow with the return of Traoré and I think they will play better than they did in Eindhoven. It will not be an easy task but we are confident of getting a good result here.” André Ooijer agreed with his coach and added: “Nothing much may be at stake, but we also want to win this match. It’s all about honour, points and price-money”, said Ooijer in Cluj.
