PSV reached third round with a 0-8 win

Memphis Depay bagged a brace and Jürgen Locadia scored one goal on their debut as PSV comfortably saw off amateur side VVSB in Noordwijkerhout on Wednesday afternoon to reach the KNVB Cup third round. PSV ran out 0-8 winners after Zakaria Labyad scored twice and Georginio Wijnaldum (from the spot), Ola Toivonen and Rabiu Ibrahim also got their names on the scoresheet.

Debutantes scored goals

Two forwards, Memphis Depay, who was handed a start, and Jürgen Locadia, who came on as a substitute, crowned their debuts for PSV with a goal. Depay opened the scoring after twenty minutes and after the break he also netted PSV´s fifth goal, while Locadia made it six. Fred Rutten’s team were leading 0-3 at half-time, after Georginio Wijnaldum had converted a spot-kick and captain Ola Toivonen headed home Depay´s right-wing cross from close range.

PSV reach KNVB Cup third round

PSV scored five more goals in the second-half. Zakaria Labyad, who put in a spirited display, scored twice and substitute Rabiu Ibrahim completed the rout with a goal in the last minute. Youngster Maikel Verkoelen, who had already made his PSV debut in a European game against SV Ried, replaced Toivonen on the hour-mark as PSV comfortably coasted to a 8-0 away win over a helpless VVSB side. The KNVB Cup third round fixtures are scheduled to take place on 25, 26 and 27 October.
