PSV
Berg scored opening goal
Dzsudzsák returned from suspension while Marcelo was handed his first start for PSV in a competitive match. PSV knew they needed a solid win to qualify for the Europa League group stage and started brightly. They dominated possession and created plenty of chances in a one-sided first half. Fred Rutten’s team came close to opening the scoring in the second minute when Lens had a shot on target. Keeper Solosin went down well to push Toivonen´s powerful long-range effort away for a corner. Dzsudzsák, who was unstoppable, delivered another great cross into the area but Lens unfortunately sent his header across the face of goal. PSV were rewarded for their dominance in the 38th minute when Berg scored the opening goal. Dzsudzsák won the ball and found Lens, who whipped in a low cross from the right and Berg was on hand to score a brilliant back-heel goal at the near post. The visitors got a wonderful opportunity on the stroke of half-time, when Canas looked likely to score but completely mis-hit his effort in front of a 20, 900 crowd at the Philips Stadium.

PSV
Four second-half goals
The second half continued as the first had ended. PSV piled up the pressure with the crowd screaming each move forward. Berg headed wide from Manolev´s cross in the 54th minute. One minute later captain Orlando Engelaar found himself some space and unleashed a ferocious low left- footed shot from 20 yards out that left the Sibir goalkeeper with no chance; 2-0. PSV´s third goal from Toivonen in the 63rd minute virtually wrapped up the points. Swedish striker Berg laid the ball back to countryman Toivonen who crashed in a thunderbolt of a goal from all of 20 yards out; 3-0. Koevermans came on for Berg after 71 minutes. One minute later Lens delivered a cross which Solosin failed to gather and Dzsudzsák slotted home a right-footed shot though the goalkeeper’s legs; 4-0. PSV were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute when defender Aravin handled the ball in the area, attempting to block a cross. Dzsudzsák coolly converted the penalty. Final score: 5-0. PSV will learn their fate when the UEFA Europe League draw takes place in Monaco tomorrow afternoon.

Marcus Berg broke the deadlock after 38 minutes. Marcus Berg broke the deadlock after 38 minutes.
