PSV had a disappointing Superleague Formula day
19 juli 2009 10:00
Dominick Muermans will start the third round of the 2009 Superleague Formula by Sonangol at Zolder in Belgium from the back of the grid after crashing the PSV car out of qualifying in the early stages. Muermans was uninjured after impacting the barriers at slow speed.
The PSV car is towed to a safe place.
“I am keen to put on a show”
“I hope things will be better tomorrow. I am keen to put on a show for the PSV fans”, explained Muermans. The PSV driver will start in seventeenth position. The Superleague Formula races on Sunday kick off at 11:30 and at 15.00. Muermans was not the only Dutchman who had a disappointing day. Yelmer Buurman of local favourite RSC Anderlecht, second in the overall points standings, was down in 13th place. Championship points awarded in the two 44+1 minute Superleague Formula showdowns will be added together. Many Anderlecht and PSV fans are expected to attend the races, while several players have already promised to join the party.
