PSV have finished their UEFA Europa League group stage campaign on a high note, with a 0-2 victory over CFR Cluj in Romania on Wednesday night. Danko Lazovic converted a penalty and Nordin Amrabat doubled PSV´s lead at the Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium.

PSV and FC Copenhagen progress to the round of 32
PSV had already booked a place in the Round of 32 and remained unbeaten in Europe as they finished on top of Group K, with four wins and two draws. Nothing was at stake for either side, apart from honour and prestige, and it was mission accomplished in an icy cold Cluj for PSV who also won UEFA Cup points for Holland. In tonight’s other Group K game, FC Copenhagen recorded an emphatic 0-3 away victory against Sparta Prague, so the Danes will also be in the hat when the draw takes place on Friday.
Lazovic converted penalty
Ooijer, Marcellis and Simons made a return to the starting line-up as the hosts created the first dangerous moment. Koné had a great chance to open the scoring but the striker directed his header wide of the target. PSV´s attacks were well measured and patiently built up and the visitors were rewarded for their dominance in the 18th minute. Lazovic was fouled in the box and the Serbian striker stepped up to coolly convert the resulting spot kick; 0-1. Ola Toivonen had two first-half chances to extend PSV´s advantage.
Amrabat, brought on at half time, scores PSV´s second goal of the night.
Amrabat strike
PSV head coach Fred Rutten brought on Amrabat for Dzsudzsák at half time. Toivonen was a constant threat and PSV were as solid as a rock in defence. Koevermans came on for Afellay after 66 minutes. Two minutes later, Toivonen put Amrabat clear with a clever through ball and the substitute beat the keeper with a lovely strike; 0-2. PSV were in control as they cruised to victory in wintry circumstances. Vukovic left the bench to replace Lazovic ten minutes from time. PSV will fly to Eindhoven on Thursday morning and start to prepare for Sunday’s fixture, away against Roda JC, the final domestic league game ahead of the mid-winter break.
