‘Reasonably good day’

PSV coach Huub Stevens, captain Timmy Simons, some more players, a number of PSV sponsors, the PSV board of directors, fans from Eindhoven and other racing fans saw Yelmer Buurman finish third and claim a podium place, two weeks after he had already won a Superleague Formula race at the Nürburgring. The PSV driver said he had enjoyed a reasonably good day. “I am very pleased because the weekend started out very difficult for us. In the end of free practice we were really struggling with some problems with the car and we didn’t have very good top speed. The mechanics and all the technical staff did a great job to fix the car for today. I am happy with my third and seventh place finish. I had to fight my way back to get back on to the podium. The PSV fans have hopefully enjoyed a wonderful day and I hope they will come back to see another race”, said Buurman at the press conference. He was presented with his cup by PSV’s Commercial Manager Marcel van den Bunder, who had invited a number of sponsors to see the races. This weekend’s results cemented Beijing Gu’Aon’s lead at the head of the SF Championship Points Table. The Chinese club leads on 207 points followed by PSV Eindhoven (193) and Liverpool FC (171). The next race will take place at Circuit Estoril in Portugal on 18 and 19 October.
