17 november 2009 09:00
Otman Bakkal is thrilled with his first senior international call-up. The 24-year old PSV midfielder says it is “a very proud moment” to have been called into the Holland squad for the first time. Holland host Paraguay at the Abe Lenstra Stadium in Heerenveen on Wednesday, November 18th.
Otman Bakkal won the European Under-21 championship in 2007 with Holland U-21.
“Thrilled and proud”
“By the end of the afternoon team manager Hans Jorritsma told me I had been added to the Holland squad. He added that I should report for duty immediately. “I’m grateful Van Marwijk has been keeping tabs on me. I’m obviously thrilled and I’m also looking forward to linking up with the other lads at the training sessions. I represented my country at Under-21 level, but it is an honour to be called up to the senior squad. I want to play for Holland and it would be a great honour and a proud moment for me.”
