Otman Bakkal added to Holland squad

24-year-old Otman Bakkal was today added to the Holland squad for Wednesday’s international friendly against Paraguay in Heerenveen. The PSV midfielder, born and bred in Eindhoven, has been drafted into Bert van Marwijk’s squad for the first time following injury concerns surrounding Sneijder. Bakkal was a member of the Holland U-21 team that won the European Under-21 championship in 2007 and he competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Bakkal has been called up into the 21-man Holland squad for Wednesday’s international friendly against Paraguay to replace the injured Wesley Sneijder (Internazionale). A trio of PSV midfielders, Bakkal, Ibrahim Afellay and Orlando Engelaar, has now been selected by Holland coach Bert van Marwijk to represent their country. Holland host Paraguay at the Abe Lenstra Stadium in Heerenveen on Wednesday, November 18th. Kick-off time: 20.45.
