Brands: “One of the most promising youngsters in Holland”

Eleven months ago, Depay, who joined PSV at the start of the 2006/07 season, signed a new contract with PSV, when he was on trial with the first-team squad. Caretaker manager Phillip Cocu promoted him to the senior squad last season and the youngster immediately impressed with some convincing displays as a substitute, capped by some fine goals. Depay signed a contract extension at the Philips Stadion on Friday in the presence of Technical Director Marcel Brands, who is pleased that Depay has committed his future to PSV. “Memphis Depay is regarded one of the most promising youngsters in Holland. He is skilful and ambitious and if he continues to make progress, he will be a valuable asset for PSV. We are pleased he has agreed to extend his stay at PSV until 2017”, said Brands.
