It was originally feared that Stanislav Manolev and Erik Pieters would face lengthy lay-offs, but there has been positive news from the treatment table: Manolev looks set to join the squad for full training, while the injury that Erik Pieters sustained is less bad than expected. Both players are doubtful for Saturday’s clash at NAC Breda, though.

‘Manolev is making good progress’
Manolev is making good progress in his battle to win fitness after he sustained a hamstring injury against HSV last week. He trained separately from the rest of Fred Rutten’s squad on Friday morning. “He is doubtful for Saturday, but he is doing much better than we could possible have expected”, said PSV´s head coach Fred Rutten. Erik Pieters is also making good progress. “Fortunately things aren’t as bad as we originally feared. Balázs Dzsudzsák resumed full training yesterday and he did well at training. Some players are doubtful for the game at NAC Breda. We will assess their situation tomorrow”, concluded Fred Rutten.
