Fred Rutten previews FC Utrecht v PSV

PSV return to league action after the winter break on Sunday with a trip to FC Utrecht. Head coach Fred Rutten previewed the game at his weekly press briefing on Friday afternoon. He has a near full-strength squad to choose from with the exception of Pieters, Tamata and Engelaar, who are not available for Sunday’s match due to injuries.

“A positive mood”
“I’m looking forward to the game. FC Utrecht have a solid team”, said Rutten at De Herdgang training facilities. He admitted that he would prefer no winter break. “I’d rather we had played because we wanted to continue our winning streak. We were in a positive mood and we are keen to maintain the momentum”, said Rutten.

“Confident we can take all three points”
PSV are boosted by the return to fitness of Atiba Hutchinson and Stijn Wuytens. “They have fully recovered from their injuries and are match fit but lack match practice.” Engelaar, Tamata and Pieters continue their rehabilitation programme.” PSV will train on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s clash at FC Utrecht. “We know we are in for a physical battle against FC Utrecht, but we won’t fear them. They had a poor start to the season, with many new players and a new coach, but they now have a solid team and a number of players have shaken off injuries.
