Rutten explained that Vukovic will be undergoing his medical and the negotiations of his deal will be finalised later today. According to the head coach, the deal consists of a loan-period with an option to buy. “He is a talent, for sure, but he comes here from a different competition and he’ll need time to adjust,” said Rutten about the left-footed youth international. Vukovic isn’t fit enough to join the selection, though, Rutten said. “I know he came here with a knock.”

Rutten said he expects a tough game against Groningen up North. “Groningen are in that phase that they have to. I know the coach well and I know they can kick up a storm there. And we are in a series of ‘doubles’ these weeks, so FC Groningen can bring a lot of energy to the game. Physically, they’re a very strong team, although they will feel the loss of Berg’s demise. But we want to finish this block of games on a high note.” PSV have a near fully-fit squad. Only Dirk Marcellis, Jonathan and the suspended Maza will not travel up north.
