Fred Rutten: " A hard-fought but fully deserved win"

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Fred Rutten said: “It was a hard-fought but fully deserved win. Everybody expected us to win and that’s what we did. RKC provide tough opposition at home and this afternoon’s match was no exception. I am happy we’ve picked up three points here.”

Rutten: "Happy with three points"

Rutten admitted at the post-match press conference that PSV´s performance had been laborious at times, in particular in the first half. “We created a number of chances in the first 45 minutes and could have been two or three goals up at half time. We survived a scare when RKC got a great chance two minutes into the second half. Reis missed a gilt-edged chance before he scored the opening goal. Everybody expected us to win and that’s what we did. I am happy we’ve picked up three points here.”

Ruud Brood´s analysis

"We wanted to give PSV a hard time and send men forward”, started Ruud Brood his analysis. "PSV got a few chances when we gave the ball away, but we could have scored when we got a golden opportunity in the 47th minute. They showed their quality once again scoring the opener at the right moment. We conceded the second goal when we tried to net an equaliser. This was one of our best games of the season.”
