Phillip Cocu will have to watch the final two World Cup 2006 qualifying games of the Dutch team from the grandstand. The midfielder has been suspended by the FIFA for two matches.

'Alleged elbow'
Cocu was shown a red card by the Hungarian referee Attila Hanacek the other day, when the Dutch team faced Andorra for a World Cup qualifying game. Cocu, who has been capped 93 times, was dismissed for allegedly leading with his elbow. The Netherlands enjoyed a 4-0 win in the Eindhoven Stadium. So Marco van Basten, coach of the Dutch team, will have to do without the services of Cocu at the qualifying games against The Czech Republic and Macedonia, respectively on 8 October and 12 October next.
