Dutch team takes on USA in international friendly

The Oranje host the USA in an international friendly at the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday. PSV.nl looks ahead to tonight’s game, in which the PSV players Ibrahim Afellay, Orlando Engelaar and André Ooijer represent their country. It will be the final match before the Holland squad gathers in mid-May to prepare for the World Cup in South Africa.

Just like Holland, the USA finished on top of their World Cup qualifying group. The American finished in first place, above Mexico. Bob Bradley´s men have been drawn to face England, Algeria and Slovakia in the group stage of the 2010 World Cup. Former PSV player DaMarcus Beasley, who currently plies his trade with Glasgow Rangers, Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard and his Everton team mate Landon Donovan and former sc Heerenveen player Michael Bradley, who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach, have all been named in the USA squad. Promising AC Milan defender Oguychi Onyewu is injured. The average age of the American players is 25.7 years and six of them make appearances for an English Premier League side.
