Double role

Advocaat will combine the role at AZ with the job of Belgium coach. In 1995, Advocaat took the reins at PSV, guiding them to a championship and a Dutch Cup success, before becoming Rangers manager in 1998. AZ face Standard Liege tonight in their final UEFA Champions League Group H match. The Alkmaar outfit must win the game to book a place in the UEFA Europa League, after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League tournament. Advocaat will be presented to the press at a conference in Alkmaar on Thursday and will take charge of his first training session on the same day.
