Buurman claims podium place at Circuit Zolder

Yelmer Buurman claimed a podium place in race two of round three of the Superleague Formula championship today on Sunday afternoon at Zolder in Belgium. The PSV star had to fight his way back to finish third. Buurman was seventh in the first race earlier on the day.

The crowd watched a spectacular race at a damp Zolder where track conditions continued to take their toll on the field. Buurman succeeded in overtaking AS Roma’s car and got through to third place. Robert Doornbos (AC Milan) recorded a fourth place. . Beijing Gu’aon won the race, cementing heir lead at the head of the point standings. The PSV players Dirk Marcellis, Timmy Simons, Bas Roorda and Stijn Wuytens saw PSV earn a podium place. Wuytens did not have to travel far, as Eksel, where he lives, is close to Circuit Zolder.
